Preparing for an in person workshop in Lake Oswego, Oregon, went to visit again some of my favorite quotes. the workshop is called "Coming Home, Return to Your Sacred Place", at Imagine Yoga Studio.
Here they are:
"Appearances change, not because of changing physical forms, but because of our relationship to them.
There is a human state called Kaivalya. That is, a person is free. when a person is free, it means that things outside of himself are not as disturbing as they were in the past."
The Heart of Yoga p.42
"In yoga, one of the first levels of prajña, wisdom, is the awareness and understanding that we are disturbed."
The Heart of Yoga, p.41
"That which perceives is not subject to any variations, but it always perceives through the mind."...
"Consequently, the quality of perception is affected by the state of the mind which is the instrument of perception."
The Heart of Yoga, about Sutra 2.20
"The task is to achieve a constant ability to distinguish between the Perceiver and all that is Perceived. the promise is that this is the path to perfect clarity and wisdom."
Health, Healing & Beyond
"The breath relates directly to the mind and to our prāṇa, but we should not imagine that as we inhale prāṇa flows into us. This is not the case. Prāṇa enters the body in the moment when there's a positive change in the mind."...
"Just as the activities of the mind influence the breath, so does the breath influence the state of mind."
The Heart of Yoga, p.56
