Our Yoga Sanctuary
Yoga Garden Baja
My friend Jackie Reeves takes personal care of her garden, and has created a peaceful and welcoming space at her studio, built by her partner, Matt.
She is an extraordinary teacher and has been teaching and practicing yoga for half a century, which is reflected in her space and the yoga community that she has created.
I am so honored to be invited by her to teach at this lovely, very special space!
When you travel, you find yourself
Alone in a different way,
More attentive now
To the self you bring along,
Your more subtle eye watching
You abroad; and how what meets you
Touches that part of the heart
That lies low at home:

Why this will be a wonderful retreat

Deepen your Yoga
The package includes 10 hours of instruction with me.
I teach mindful practices including asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), meditation, chant & mantra, in the Viniyoga Tradition. With some groups I also teach Latin Dance, including salsa, cumbia and bachata!
If you want to add to those hours, you'll have the option of also taking (at additional cost) yoga classes with Jackie Reeves and her staff at Yoga Garden Baja

Peace and Beauty at our Yoga Space
Yoga Garden has an incredible feel into it, welcoming and peaceful
Jackie and Matt have created there an oasis, where one sees beauty everywhere, in the design of the garden itself, in the spacious yoga room, in every detail. A perfect place to go inward, and also to just hang out resting in the shade by the flowers and fountain.

A very friendly & cozy hotel.
-
The hotel I chose is Hotel Los Barriles, a very simple and cozy hotel, which I loved
-
A 6 minute walk to the beach and a 6 minutes walk to our Yoga Sanctuary.
-
All rooms are spacious, have two queen beds, a mini fridge and a private bathroom, with a view to a courtyard and a cute pool and palm trees.
-
A small grocery store is conveniently located a few steps from the hotel with snack, beverages and an ATM.
***
The Beach and the Sea
The beach is a very wide and sandy, people drive around in their trucks, golf carts and ATV's
The sea is usually very calm in April (unless it's windy), so you may be able to swim as if you were in a pool, like I did when I went on my scouting trip!

A Variety of Restaurants
-
My favorite restaurant for breakfast and lunch is the delicious, cozy and very affordable "El Viejo", just a few steps from our Yoga Sanctuary.
-
My favorite restaurant for dinner is "La Playa", a 1.2 kilometers walk from the hotel, either on the beach or the streets, with a beautiful view, right by the beach. Live music some days, and Salsa dancing one night a week.
-
Other restaurants are available and you will get a list of those.

Other Adventures
If you are the adventurous kind, you can skip class and arrange a one day trip to La Paz to swim with whale sharks, a day fishing on a boat, or a visit to the city of Todos Santos.
