"It's Not Complicated", by Susana Laborde-Blaj

I spent some time yesterday coloring a mandala, and really enjoyed it. While I was coloring it, it occurred to me that it may be a waste of time.
One of the characteristics of a person who has a tendency to get imbalanced in what Ayurveda calls Pitta (the elements Fire and Water, as in Lava), such as I am, may have a tendency (when out of balance) to be judgmental, opinionated, perfectionist, rigid, having the sense that they are never doing enough, or never doing good enough, among other things.
That is probably why I felt that I was wasting my time.
My wiser-self decided that it was perfectly okay, and I spent a long while doing it. Hours.
Some insights came as I was coloring, and I felt clearer and more relaxed afterwards, finding that I was more friendly and calm in my interactions with my husband when he came back from work.
While I was coloring, I listened to a few songs that I found relaxing and peaceful. One of those songs said: "Ce n'est pas compliqué, it's not complicated... You don't have to carry the world all by yourself".
It's very important for me to sometimes take the time to "waste my time". Those are precious moments in which my system is nurtured, moving out from doing into being, and letting myself flow with the rhythms of the natural world in me.
Actions will be different when they come from a place of Clarity.
May I be strong and powerful
May I have Clarity
May I find Peace
May my Actions come from a place of Clarity
And may this be a benefit to all beings.
