I recently purchased the excellent resource "Viniyoga Magazines", that I highly recommend.
You can go to viniyogamagazines.com or to yogatheoryapplied.com to purchase them.
There is a paragraph by Desikachar, my teacher's teacher, that particularly caught my attention:
So, God is available to us but He will not interfere without
our asking; we have to get closer to Him.
According to the teachings we received, God cannot be
far away because He is inside us. So the way to meet Him
is not a very long one. God is present in the heart
(hridaya) of each of us. So we just have to turn to Him;
He is there, ready to help us. Unfortunately we are so
busy that we are always turned towards the exterior and
away from our center… We behave like someone who
would look all around the world for the baby that is on their back.
- T.K.V. Desikachar (Viniyoga Europe 2, p 25)
This reminds me of what Meister Eckhart said:
God is at home, it is we who have gone out for a walk
- Meister Eckart
And also of the very cool poem by Kabir... Read "Are you Looking For Me?
Is God available to you? Think about it.
